New research, from leading equine parasitologist Dr Martin Nielsen, has provided more evidence to show that reducing worming intensity, does not have any adverse health risks to horses. The work confirms that the traditional approach of frequent routine de-worming at pre-determined intervals, without the use of diagnostic testing is unnecessary.

Christmas Opening Hours 2020

For the laboratory and office

Our lab and office will be operating a reduced hours service over the Christmas Holidays. As always, the lab will test each day there is a post and return results, which you can also check in your account. All shop orders received will also be processed and sent out but the main office will remain closed for general enquiries. We'll be back to our normal hours from Monday 4th January. As usual we’ll do our best to respond to any pressing queries as soon as possible. If you need a direct response out of hours then please send these via Facebook messenger.

Kristy Hodgson has scooped a prestigious accolade at the National SQP Awards 2020; our Ops Director was announced as the winner of the Outstanding Customer Service Award at a virtual ceremony on the 5th November 2020. The award recognises the exceptional customer service Kristy provides in the area of promoting best practice parasite control to horse owners. It cited the back-up advice offered by Westgate Labs as ‘critical to the success of enabling people to follow a targeted worming programme with their animals’. Kristy is central to delivering the guidance that helps to keep horses healthy as well as slow the development of drug resistance.

Open as usual, please post your samples!

As a postal business we’re able to carry on testing through the latest lockdown that’s been announced for November 2020 with business carrying on in the ‘new normal’ Covid compliant way. Please be reassured that all worm egg count samples will continue to be tested on the day that we receive them, EquiSal testing is carrying on as normal and our shop orders are also being processed on the same day (orders received after 2pm will be shipped the following day).
